Day 197 Oct 23 Tue - River Inn Camp in Wasserburg to Munich

Vietnamese Restaurant in Munich cost 10.5 euro
YMCA Hostel cost 30 euro

Today's Distance: 62 km
Today's Temp: 3 - 6°c
Average Speed: 12.7 max: 46
Time on Bike: 4 hr 52 min
Average climb: 3% max: 12%
Trip Altitude: 322 m max: 651 m
Today's spending: 32.88 euro
Total Distance to date: 12731 km
Total spending to date: 296.0 euro
A rather short ride today with occasionally shower rain but no snow, temp bearable at 3-6°c.Started to ride at 11.30 am,no picture taken as my batteries still flat. By 4.30pm rode in to the city, while busy looking for hostel from a list printed from the internet,my rear tire went flat, did not bother to change the tube,so I wheeled around, not easy to find without a city map, luckily met a nice German guy who leads me to this YMCA hostel ( 30 euro per night) and paid half of the cost. What a nice guy, I don't even know his name, but I remembered what he said " Hei, you ride this bicycle all the way from Malaysia, you must be very tired, have a hot shower and sleep well"

I agree, clothing is what makes the difference. My feet get cold on my recumbent trike, so do my hands. If I can keep most of the rain & cold out & the warmth in, I am happy - perhaps that is why I live in Queensland.
Keep riding Meng, you are a true champion.

Hi buddy,

Its been 6 months now since we last have our teh tarik's session. Times really flies, my friend.

Its great that you have progressed this far and still going strong. Another 3k km down the roads and that's a Malaysian history or rather Meng's World of Discovery Channels.

Meanwhile, you don't overworked yourself and take care of your health in such cold weather. We at TTKs know that you can make it to Paris soon, 3k km after all shouln't be a problem to you, don't rush and take it easy if the weather doesn't permit you to ride as safety is your priority now.

Take care buddy and cheers....

Best wishes and happy riding from your TTKs back home.

Hi Meng,
too sad that I missed you in Munich, I just found out that you have left the YMCA. Well oktoberfest is over -
I was hoping to take you to the Malay-Chinese restaurant in Augsburg for a good, big meal.
You need strength to pedal to Paris!!
If you are not too far I could catch up with you by car. Let me know where I can find you.
At least the weather is a bit better now – no more snow?
Looking forward to hear from you – good luck and safe cycling.
Stephan

Meng,

Good to read that you left the snow behind and is way beyond Munich. Bravo for not taking the train. The experience of riding in the snow thou freezing (or pain maybe) would be well worth it when you do your recollection in future.
Am real proud of your resilient and determination. Keep it up.
Never mind that you missed the Octoberfest in Germany. We can have one for you when you are back in Bolehland.
Cheers...

Hello Meng,

Hope you are having a great time in Munich and on your way to Paris by now. Keep it up, all your hard works shall be rewarded soon.

We at TTKs are all very proud of you for being a true Malaysian champion's as well as inspiring to lots of youngters ( not only from Malaysia but the whole world ) to follow your trails in future. Not to mentioned, along the way making new friends especially positive comments from other bloggers whom i presumed are strangers but friendly and civilised people.

Meanwhile, i fully agreed with anonymous views Oct 27 10.36AM. We think Meng as well as other bloggers out there don't like to see such comments from anonymous Oct 25 10.25PM. Please don't used such uncivilised words. It's a shame not only to Meng's and all his friends but to all Malaysians as well.

With respect to Meng, TTKs and all Malaysians out there, we hope you are not from our TTKs group as it's a disgraceful to have such a member.

Signing off from,

Vincent from TTKs.

HEI MR, TERRANCE FOO
Its not your business to comment if PCC cycling friends support Meng here or not. We of course support in other ways. You supports its because you have interest in the bike Meng is using (Free advitising Media - YES?). (Royalty paid for this or not?)ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho...........
Non of us suggested cycle back P2B OK!!!!! you got the wrong Chong here.

ATTN : MR. TERENCE FOO,
I HAVE BEEN TRYING NOT TO COMMENT IN MENG BLOGS ON OTHER ISSUES NOT RELATED TO MENG B2P BUT YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR THIS TIME.

WHETHER OR NOT WE SUPPORT MENG IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. ON BEHALF OF PCC CYCLING FRIENDS OUT THERE, YOU ARE REALLY A " PISSED OFF " TO ALMOST ALL OF US.

Dear Gentlemen,

I am so proud to have Meng visit our farm, and the chance to meet someone who has spent 6 months on the road with a bicycle, a lot of that time alone. Regardless of what he is riding, or who is supporting him, it is a very hard and long way to go, and someone who has worked so hard and long to get to where he is, does not need to see a fight on his website.

Please keep the peace in the style and philosophy that the B2P was founded, to help others with charity and to promote non-poluting ways of travel.

Best wishes to you all,

Karen and the Curly Horses

To Meng,

Please do ignore the fighting, stay focussed on your goal, and go go go go! :)

We hope all is well with you, and that you are almost to Paris!

Best wishes,

Karen and Erwin of the Curly Horses

Brater Meng,
We fully agreed that this blog should be used constructively to comment, to provide assistance for ease of communication and other useful means. But, there is one, who used vulgar language to piss others which is really disgracing (tarak otak) and uncivilised (tarak baca). From TTKs.
