Tian Chi or "Heaven Lake" is one of the tourist spot 110km north of Urumqi.We joined a one day tour package for 155 rmb,cost include bus transport to and flo ,tour guide,lunch 90rmb entrance fee and cable car. The bus was supposed to depart at 9.30am but was delayed by replacing the fan belts,the others local tourist were so angry threatening to lodge complaint.The bus finally set off at 11.00am.The lady tourguide apologised for the delay and promised to ensure timelost will be replaced.The journey took about 2 hours from Highway G216 and turned into a smaller road up on the mountain where stream water from the mountain flowing down and the pine trees can be seen.When the bus reached the entrance foothill,all the tourists were taken into 2 vans to further climbed up to the lake which is located over 2000m height.Provided lunch is just a plate of fried rice but we ordered lamb skewers.A 15 min further walk is the Tian Chi. There is no regret to visit this lake as the view is so spectacular,whatsmore we were lucky enough to witness the various cultural shows from the ethnic group of Kazakhstan,well i should say no so much of a dance performance but merely a camera shooting. We spent about 3 hour ( Heather had a boat ride) around the lake and came back to the waiting bus by cable car.

Frustrating blogspot dead again.Went visiting Remin park and Hong San Feng,the entrance fee for these 2 parks had been abolished sometimes from the Feb 2007,the government is doing the right things as parks are important places for healthy excersice and living esp for aged and retired locals to past times.Today being the children's day , both parks are full of peoples,families with their children.

Thats the end of the song,I am sure some of you also remember this song,right? Well back on the journey,Our target today is Urumqi which is 95km. We prefered to follow G312 old road instead of going back to the highway. The reasons being there are 3 towns that we'll pass by according to the map:YuanHu,Zaiwopu and Huafeizang,that means we can have frequent food/drinks stop.We passed by the "Dead Sea of China" YuanHu or Salt Lake in English but the entrance fee is too expensive for 45 rmb.Another reason is Heather needs to rush to Urumqi to sort out her visas for China and Kazakhstan.By 5pm we finally rode in to Urumqi,the traffic is very heavy with trucks dominating a narrow road.The dust is flying around.This time Heather wanted to make sure no "kickouts" so we checked into a "grand hotel" called Sailimu for 168 rmb. Urumqi is the capital of Xinjiang and is surrounded by mountains.
