I am now in Hanoi ,Vietnam

Yessss I am now in Hanoi took airasia flight at LCCT at 1655hr and touch down at 1900hr. Hanoi is one hr late compared Malaysia. staying in Love Planet 1 booked thru' internet for usd 8 . Cheap single privite bed with aircon/hot shower/sat tv. The only complaint is , my room in on the 5th floor and have to carry the bicycle box all the way up the 60 degree steep staircase ,the box weight is 35kg ,luckily i am not carry it alone. As u can see from the photo who sent me off, Foo has never failed to help, thanks!

Good luck Ah Meng. Wish u all the best, have a safe & pleasant ride for your entire journey. Just found out abt your trip a while ago. U'r still in Hanoi, please do drop by at this Cha Ca La Vong restaurant. its somewhere at Cha Ca Street. Its at old quarters & not far from where u stay now. The street is named after the restaurant. Enuf said & has been arnd since 1871. Unless u'v tried it b4, perhaps, its a good way to begin your epic journey at an epic restaurant. Once again, all the best.

Rgds fr Nizar.

Hi Meng,

Remember me (we met at Mulu)? Just very curious - why do people always go from Beijing to Paris? Why not go beyond Paris to Britain or down to Spain or something? Also, what are you doing in Hanoi? Aren't there any direct flights from KL to Beijing? Anyway, I wish you all the best for your epic journey...

Chi Fai,
sure i remember u ,a yound boy fr HK.Wonder how u came to know my blog? The reason for going to Hanoi first are:
1. free air tiket
2. Get to see Hanoi first time
3. I am a retired poor man..ha...ha

Glad your journey took off on a good start, enjoyng Hanoi, n exploring the Old Quarters. The Hoan Kiem lake looks awesome but u should have seen it at 6am, with mist n groups of women doing cha-cha around it. By tomorrow at this hour u should be on the train to Beijing.. anticipating what awaits.. n so are we...
