I don't think that's an English/British flag.

I think you will find that the red cross of St George (on the white background) was accepted as the English flag during the 16th century. First appearing as an emblem of England during the Middle Ages & Crusades, was an early known emblems of England. F.Y.I. St George was accepted as the patron saint of England in the 13th century; & St George slaying a dragon dates from about the 12th century.

The UK flag is the Union Jack.
It has the flags of England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland - all member countries of the United Kingdom. Perhaps this is what you are thinking of.
Meng is correct with this as the English flag, as is the other contribution.
