Never expected my campsite today was in between two very busy highways about 100m apart.I was riding on road D-100 and the Expressway E-80 on my right,Bolu was fast approaching, don't intend to stay in hotels, desperately looking for place to camp, time already 5 pm and it all started with a vee stop, then I discovered quite a hidden flat spot, explored further down " Wow, a clear flowing stream " about 1 meter wide, hidden among the trees. Today's ride mostly uphills, the 1st 3 hrs climbed from 300m to 950m,then a fast downhill to Mengen town for a lunch of packed springrolls bread and 3 glasses of cai. Then the 2nd climbed of 2 hr from 800m to 1200m peak in Yenicaga town where there is a T-junction - right to Istanbul & left to Ankara. The expressway E-80 is running parallel to D-100,traffic were heavy.

Brater Meng,
Glad to know that you are doing great. While we may "Leave our TTKs Comment" here you are also currently busy uploading your photos and writing your journal. Last Friday, we had our teh tariks and so much had been spoken about you. Keep it up, Meng! Meng Boleh! Loud Cheers from the TTKs.

Hi Meng,

An Ang Moh friend asked me the meaning of often used words like 'brater' 'teh tarik' and 'kakis'

Let me oblige,

Brater/brudder/brother are one n the same just spelt differently, a way of expressing close friendship among make friends, like 'Hey bro' in the US

'Teh tarik' literally is 'pulled tea' common hot drink in Malaysia n Singapore. Usually sold by Indian Muslims at cafes and eateries. Hot milky tea is poured from one container/cup into another, to try and cool it. Repetitive pouring creats a thick broth much like a head on a beer.

'Kaki' is literally leg, so kakis are legs attached to friends....a group of kakis/friends meeting up for some teh tarik.

Ang Mohs ref to 'red hair' non Asian natural hair found on Caucasian westerners. Includes Heather purple hair notwithstamding.

Meng a lot of readers from Heather's blog have migrated to yours. Keep the flag flying for the 2nd half to Paris! Hope to meet you someday in KL!
