Started at 8.30am after a buffer breakfast at the Tengri Hotel . Here we go.... 300km to the Russian border and 380km to Astrakhan and we must do it in 3 days! The morning part was beautiful, good road and taiwind. I was at the front by 12.30 noon already done 84km and waited almost 2 hr for Heather who was having stomach trouble again , the tailwind has turned into headwind by then and the heatwave problebly has slow her down further. We rested for another 2 hr at the cafe. Bought another 3 litre of water and a litre of petrol for my MSR stove. We were only back on the road A-27 at 4.00pm. According to GPS,the next town will be 90km away.As usual, being at the front,I 'll be responsible to look for campsite. This abandoned petrolstation camp has a cemented water tank underground and there is water 4 ft from the top with a round steel opening. There is no bucket around to scoop the water! So if you want water, you have to find ways. I constructed one with a 5 litre plastic container, cut off the cap portion ,and nailed it to a wooden plank. At least we had water for washing, cooking and bath.
